Overview
The demand growth of LED market for the second quarter has been comparably weaker due to the volatile global economy. Demands are scaled back and LED manufacturers are now undercutting each other in order to maintain their capacity utilization rates. The destructive competition has forced manufacturers to shift their strategies and focusing on the niche market, which covers automotive LED, UV, IR, flip-chip, CSP, and other highly profitable LED products, for margin improvement.
LEDforum 2015, organized by LEDinside, will be held on October 23th, 2015 at National Taiwan University Hospital International Convention Center. During the morning session, speakers will be discussing developments in LED components. The afternoon session will be dedicated to innovative applications and the future trend of LED industry. All industry professionals are cordially invited to attend this great event!

In current development, low output power and high cost impede mass adoption of UV-LEDs, specifically for wavelengths shorter than 360 nm. However, the recent progress in device design and fabrication lead to deep UV- (DUV-) LEDs with higher performance at a lower cost. In this talk, after presenting the technical evolution of DUV-LEDs and the current status of device performance, we will show some applications already addressed and discuss about the market penetration opportunities.
